Two live peroformances took place for the participants of our congress GAIA 2006, before it was named Brandmarker in 2007; Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra on June 18 and Boğaziçi University Rock Choir on June 21.

Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra that comes out as a move forward for peace and friendship in a region of economic, social and political turbulence performs pieces by regional composers, with local instruments, along with its classical repertory.

Soloists joining the orchestra with their Eurasian and Middle Eastern instruments, bring their own flavor to western classical music, while creating the opportunity for various cultures to meet and know each other.

The orchestra gathers at least 4 times annually, under the conductorship of its permanent maestro Saim Akçil, for a series of concerts in various cities of Turkey and abroad. Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra performs in the International Istanbul Music Festival alternately with other Turkish orchestras, and until now has performed in Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Rumania, Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan.

The orchestra successfully performs its mission for peace while representing Turkey in many international organizations at home and abroad. 


BOĞAZİÇİ UNIVERSITY ROCK CHOIR

Live performers of Boğaziçi University are considered best groups among Turkish universities. In the Live Performance evening, previous participants of GAIA Congress enjoyed the music of Boğaziçi University Rock Choir or Dance Group. This year Boğaziçi Music Club represented an exciting performance with their Rock Choir.
